Our relationship with United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction

The EEC participates in the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction Stakeholder Engagement Mechanism, connecting its work with the international disaster-risk-reduction community and the implementation of the Sendai Framework.

Our public Sendai Voluntary Commitment, recorded as SFVC 20210604_002, documents the EEC’s aim of widening access to training in medical emergencies and disaster risk reduction. The record brings together training activities, practical exercises and community preparedness work.

This relationship links the EEC’s educational mission with prevention, preparedness and resilience. We work to help professionals, volunteers and communities develop the knowledge and coordination needed to reduce the impact of emergencies.
